On the first 2 days of the diet your diet will mainly be eating foods high in fat. It is important to remember to take the drops while doing these loading or gorging days. The reason you are doing this is so that you are making your normal fat reserves well stocked with fat to prepare you for the low calorie portion of the diet. Even if you are gaining weight, it’s important to continue to eat the most fattening foods to capacity. You can read specifics on this in the Original “Pounds and Inches” by Dr. Simeons under “Gain before Loss” section.
The process really does more than stock up your normal fat reserves but also makes you get your fill of those foods you can’t have while on the VLCD (very low calorie diet) portion of the diet. It really makes you not want those foods for a while and keep you from wanting to cheat.
Load well and you’ll lose well. Don’t worry if you gain during the process, it’s normal, and you’ll lost that and more once you start the VLCD portion. Any gains are only temporary and are easily lost the first 1-2 days on the diet.
Remember, it’s important to eat as much as you can even if you’re not feeling really hungry. Here are some suggestions on what to eat while loading.
- Bacon, Sausage, hot dogs
- Butter on everything
- Deep fried anything
- Half and Half cream
- Cream cheese
- Peanut butter or nuts
- Ice cream
- Anything with cream sauces
- Ranch dressing as dips for fries or chicken, etc.
Those are just some suggestions. You really should just eat what you love and what you think it “bad” for you. Get it “out of your system” now by eating it, getting sick of it, and you won’t crave it while on the low calorie phase. A good tip though is to avoid starches so that you can use that stomach space for more fatty foods. Also avoid drinking sodas and a lot of water. Instead have a cup of milk or a milkshake.
If you do more than one round of the HCG diet you will need to repeat this process each time, following your 3 weeks of maintenance. Loading is a very important step and should never be skipped when doing the diet. By doing loading you are setting yourself up for success. Always start off the first two days with loading or gorging. A good tip is while on the VLCD portion and having cravings for foods you can’t have, write them down, so that when it comes time to load again you’ll have a list compiled of foods you want to eat before starting the diet again. You can then get your fill of these while loading on your next round. This way you will get to enjoy all the food you love, but also setting yourself up for success on the diet.
