HCG Diet and Headaches – How to Relieve the Pain

HCG diet is the most unique and one-of-a-kind weight loss plan that one can use. It is effective and safe since it uses two methods. The first one involves the use of HCG hormone and the other one is to maintain a low calorie diet for a certain period of time. Both methods work to enhance each other's action in losing weight.

People who usually follow the HCG diet plan go through with the agony of experiencing headaches. This side effect can go on for several days as soon as you begin using the diet for weight loss. For those who don't know yet, the headache is just a normal feeling when HCG is used. There are just some dieters who are quite sensitive to hormonal and metabolic changes in their bodies that is why headaches can be noticeable. For some dieters, they gorge during the first 2 days of the HCG plan by consuming a lot of carbs. There are also people who would follow a fat eating plan.

In order for one person to comprehend why there are headaches during the HCG diet, you will have to understand first that your brain needs carbohydrates to fuel it. Our brain can function with fat and protein. However, with carbohydrates they are simpler and can provide you with quick energy since they do not have to take too long to be converted into a source of fuel. All our foods contain simple sugars and refined foods especially those manmade, prepackaged and pre-prepared food items. Because of that, our body becomes use to this kind of meal.

So if there is a drastic reduction of these foods in our diet, the body experiences withdrawal thus causing the dreaded headache. If you are so into eating simple sugars and carbs but do not want to endure the bloating, food cravings, fatigue and headaches, you should learn ways on how to manage it.

The headaches are just a way for the body to detoxify the bad food stuff that you have been consuming. Besides the headache, you may also feel symptoms of irritability, extreme hunger, food cravings, gas, bloating, muscle soreness, nausea, and headache. These manifestations will usually pass in a day or two. If you do not want to endure all of these, you can reduce or relieve the headaches and other withdrawal signs.

  1. During the first 2 days of loading face, instead of gorging on carbs, eat more fatty diet. This will provide more time for the body to gradually adjust to the reduction of the bad carbs in the diet. This will also take the time for the body to transfer from carb burning to fat burning.
  2. Take foods rich in potassium and vitamin E for muscle soreness.
  3. You can have L-Glutamine to stop the carbohydrate cravings.
  4. Follow your usual ways of relieving headaches.
  5. Consume liberal amounts of water.
  6. To prevent the hunger pangs, eat a lot of fiber to help fill up your appetite. In addition, it helps in the digestion process.
  7. Increase your protein intake if your hunger becomes overpowering and persistent. Then you can ease your self into 200 grams.

Headaches and other side effects should not stop you from using HCG. You can always find ways to relieve the side effects for a bigger effect which is weight loss.
