Obesity Is Not the End of Things with the HCG Diet

Gluttony may seem harmless since it just involves eating in copious amount. But if you look at the bigger picture, gluttony can result in many dangerous things. One of which is obesity which is also the leading cause of heart diseases and other health problems. The simple act of too much eating can actually result in irreversible damages including death. So what do you do before this bad habit consumes you and turns you into an obese individual? The basic answer is self- control plus a little help from a diet program called the HCG diet.

The HCG diet is not the answer to control your gluttony but rather a solution to the result of your gluttony which is obesity. The HCG diet is a proven and effective way to help obese individuals, male or female to lose weight. We all know that sweating off the fats away is not the easiest task to do. So the HCG diet is here to help you shed those extra pounds and inches you have without the need to engage in heavy exercise or strenuous activities.

The HCG diet is a diet program that makes use of hormones in the goal of helping those overweight to lose a few weights off. The hormone that helps in this task is the HCG hormone or also known as the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin hormone. This hormone is produced by the placenta and its primary action is to help in the burning up of excess weight in the form of stored fats and muscles. These are then used as energy during pregnancy. That same action works in obese individuals thus resulting to weight loss.

The role of the HCG hormone in weight loss was discovered by Dr. Simeons, a British doctor in the 1950's. His discovery led to the creation of the HCG diet. However, it wasn't until a book was released entitled "The Weight Loss Cure They Don't Wan You to Know About" that the HCG diet became popular. That book by Andrew Trudeau boosted people's awareness about the HCG diet.

The HCG diet then became a major hit when it comes to weight loss. But before it can become a hit for you too, a thorough physical examination should be done first. The HCG diet treatment can not be introduced into the body without a doctor's informed opinion about it since the HCG diet intervenes with the internal metabolism of fats. Blood tests will also be done to ensure that you are safe to undergo the HCG treatment.

The HCG diet has four phases in the goal of helping in losing weight. The first phase has a specific diet that will require you to load on very high fat foods for two days. Thus these days are called the "loading" days. The purpose of the "loading" days is to test run the body to be alert in burning up excess fats and calories. And also to help relieve any hunger or any discomfort during the first week of treatment.

The second phase of the HCG treatment also has a specific diet requirement which is a very low calorie diet of 500 calories. The second phase is also when the HCG hormone treatment begins. The synthetic form of the HCG hormones is used and is introduced into the body through shots or oral drops. The HCG shots have higher dosage and are introduced directly into the blood stream thus it can only be given in an HCG clinic with a doctor or nutritionist present. This is to avoid dangers in thyroid or in other systems such as bleeding or blood clots. The oral drops on the other hand can be taken at home. It can be conveniently taken sublingually 20 minutes before a meal. This will take 20 or 40 days but this depends on how much weight you desire to lose. The very low calorie diet continues for another three days after the 20th or 40th day when the HCG hormone treatment stops.

The third phase or the maintenance phase takes three weeks. Then you will have to go back to the first phase for another "round". When you reach the third phase again, you will add another week. The third phase also has a specific diet requirement but has a significantly lifted calorie diet restriction and food choices compared to the second phase. However, all starch and sugar should still be avoided.

The fourth phase is when you will be tested on how to keep your weight despite reset metabolism and lifestyle changes. Majority of those who have completed the HCG diet struggle to maintain the weight they have achieved. So you have to aim not to regain the weight you have lost over the last phases.

When you reach the point of obesity due to gluttony, it doesn't mean that it's the end. You still have the hope to get into the figure you used to have or even better. Self-control and the HCG diet will take you there.

Learning to say no to too much food temptation is never easy. But if you think of the consequences it will bring to your body then you will really think that too much of something is be bad enough.
